How to make Google friendly url

Since the start of SEO efforts made by internet marketer and gurus millions of techniques and methods has been published and shared world wide. SEO has become most researched topic in web development and in search engines. URL (Uniform Resource Locater) is most important for all SEO efforts and URL is very first way to bring visitor to your website or blog. I was reading in Google webmaster about URL friendlier tips and collected following tips for my visitors that should be used for making a URL more Google Friendly.

Make a logic:

URL must convey a message or it should be logical so it would be clearly matching with you contents. For example if you are looking for information about blogging a URL like 

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/blogging 

Wikipedia link is more appealing rather than below link

http://www.example.com/index.php?id_sezione=360&sid=3a5ebc944f41daa6f849f730f1.

So, making a logic in URL will help you to get higher rank in Google.

Use Punctuation:

While structuring URL of your article or blogspot be care full with punctuation, mostly people did not care about this but if you are using unnecessary symbols or wrong spelling it is more likely that search engine ignore your links. Google recommend to use Hyphen "-" in URL instead of using Underscore "_"

Avoid using ID or numerics in URL:

A URL with words rather than numerics and ID numbers is easily accessible and readable by search engine and human beings. There is very example of Facebook and Google + profile urls.

In this example Facebook URL is easy to understand because it consist on words but Google + URL seems to be difficult to understand.

We know the importance of short phrases and lines because these are very good to learn by heart or keep in mind. Here is little bit difference between the user who are using blogspot domain and users using hosted domains. Hosted domains are short in URL but blogspot domains are longer. Lets see example below:

Example (hosted domain) www.yourwebsite.com

Example (blogger) www.yourblogurl.blogspot.com

Solution of this problem for blogger;

There are many services that you can use for shortening URLs.

1) http://go.gl

2) http://Bitly.com

Remember: Google shorten service just provide the short link of their own choice you cannot edit this link

BUT

Bitly offer you to customize your link with real world of your own choice.
